Installing fe-safe 2016 to run off the Central License Server

Requirements
This Simulia fe-safe installation procedure is only authorized for MIT student/faculty/staff users. It requires a 64 bit operating system (Windows or Linux). See System Requirements for details.
Note:
- You will not need to register with Simulia or download anything from their web site.
- You will not need to update the annual license file, this is handled on the server.
- Running fe-safe this way requires that you maintain network connectivity, and requires use of the MIT VPN if you are off the MIT campus.

You will need the following items (access limited to students/faculty/staff):

Windows installation
Please note that installation will require about 4 Gb temporarily/2 Gb permanently.
- Unzip fe-safe_2016.zip in a temporary location.
- Run setup.exe in the AM_Sim_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS\3\SIMULIA_fe-safe\1\windows folder, click Continue.
- Select the desired application to install (for most users, fe-safe 2016 Fatigue Analysis Application is the appropriate selection), click Continue.
- Select the desired components to install, click Continue.
- Select the installation directories (the default choices are preferred), click Continue.
- Select Network licensing, click Continue.
- Select the desired settings directory (the default choice is preferred), click Continue, then Continue again.
- After the installation completes click Finish.
- On first launch you will need to enter licensing information. Select Simulia FlexNet licensing, Network license, enter the information here for license server hostname and here for Port, select Save license details.
Linux installation
Please note that installation will require about 4.3 Gb temporarily/2.3 Gb permanently.
- Unzip fe-safe_2016.zip in a temporary location.
- Run install.sh in the AM_Sim_Abaqus_Extend.AllOS/3/SIMULIA_fe-safe/1/linux directory, click Continue.
- Select the desired application to install (for most users, fe-safe 2016 Fatigue Analysis Application is the appropriate selection), click Continue.
- Select the desired components to install, click Continue.
- Select the installation directories (the default choices are preferred), click Continue.
- Select FlexNet Licensing licensing for Licensing System, click Continue.
- Select the desired settings directory (the default choice is preferred), click Continue, the Continue again.
- After the installation completes click Finish.
- On first launch you will need to enter licensing information. Select Simulia FlexNet licensing, Network license, enter the information here for license server hostname and here for Port, select Save license details.
The fe-safe GUI launch command is fe-safe. If you opted for the default install location, it will be in the /usr/SIMULIA/fe-safe/2016 directory.
