Intune - Out-of-the-box Setup for Devices Enrolled in Intune (Autopilot)

The article will walk through the process of setting up and signing into a Windows computer that has been configured for device management using Intune and enrolled in Autopilot.

  1. Select the correct Country or Region
  2. Pick a keyboard layout. Click Yes to continue.
  3. You can also choose to pick a second keyboard layout if you'd like. Click skip if you don't want to add an additional keyboard.
  4. The computer will now restart before continuing the setup process.
  5. After restart, you'll be prompted to sign into the computer with you MIT email address (username@mit.edu)
  6. You'll be prompted to authenticate via Touchstone@MIT. Enter your Kerberos username if it is not already populated and click Next.
  7. Enter your Kerberos password and click Verify.
  8. Wait a few minutes while the device is being setup.
  9. You'll be asked to confirm if the device is yours. Please click "Yes, this is my device"
  10. A status page will appear indicating the state of setup. You can expand Setup sections to view the current status of the computer. You can see how many apps are left to install or the status of device configuration. This process may take upwards of 30-60 minutes to complete depending on the number of applications that need to install.
  11. You'll be prompted to re-authenticate one more time. Within ~10 minutes you will see a Windows desktop and can begin to use the computer.
