MIT Learning Center look

Question

Why does the MIT Learning Center site look different from the rest of Atlas?

Answer

In 2008, the Institute-wide Planning Task Force recommended that MIT should move away from highly custom SAP solutions to the standard SAP-delivered configuration wherever possible.  By using SAP's applications as they are designed, we enjoy greater performance reliability and more flexibility to evolve with enhancements.  The MIT Learning Center was the first new application to be delivered following this recommendation.  The "look and feel" of the MIT Learning Center is the result of delivering the standard SAP web-based interface, with only supportable, upgradeable customizations.
