Search for Person

This documentation refers to the Atlas Online Gateway.
You can access Atlas at https://atlas.mit.edu/

To find a person:

  1. Enter either the person's first or last name (or both)in the appropriate fields. Use either upper or lower case, this search is not case sensitive.

Wild card Searching: If you are not sure of the spelling of a name, you may use a "wild card" asterisk . For example, if you are looking for a PI named Smith, but you are not really sure whether it is Smith or Smythe, you could enter sm* into the Last Name field. This should result in a list of all last names beginning with "sm" from which you can then pick the correct PI.

  2. Click Search to retrieve and display a list of all matching names.

If the list does not show the person you seek, try other search entries.

  3. Select a person by clicking on their name.

You return to the page from which you started your search. The chosen person’s name now displays in the appropriate fields.
