How do I change the address of a Drupal Cloud site?

Drupal Cloud site name changes can be requested by contacting drupalcloud@mit.edu.

This is a manual operation, but only takes a few minutes. However, please leave us scheduling room to do this - two business day's lead time is preferable. Active edits to the site will be interrupted as it's renamed, so please plan to be able to be "pencils down" when it comes to site edits for a reasonable time period.

If the new name for the Drupal Cloud site is in use elsewhere, we can manage the transition seamlessly (so that all visitors see either old or new content), but we will need to reach out to the listed owner of the other website before moving the name around, so please factor an extra couple of business day's lead time into your planning.

If the old name for the site should continue to work (perhaps as a redirect to the new name), that can easily be accommodated; just let us know.

In order to process rename requests, the request should come from the current owner of the Drupal Cloud site.
