SAPgui JV Upload error messages - Macintosh users should save spreadsheet as "Windows Formatted Text"

- The steps detailed here may be needed in order to accommodate SAP requirements for the tab delimited format required for JV uploads (ZJVA, ZJVI, ZJVX).
- Some tab delimited files, created in applications other than Excel, such as FileMaker or other custom applications) are not able to be parsed by SAP.
- In these files, the new line formatting is not recognized by SAP.

Solutions
Option 1: Open in Excel, change the date format, save as Tab Delimited Text.
- Open the file in Excel 2008 or Excel 2011.
- Select the transaction date column (column E), then follow the menu path Format >> Cells.
- From the formats on the left, choose Custom.
- Enter format mm/dd/yyyy.

- From the Format drop down, select Windows Formatted Text (.txt)
Option 2: Open in Excel, change the date format, save as Windows Formatted Text.
- Open the file in Excel 2008 or Excel 2011.
- Format the date column to use mm/dd/yyyy format. You may need to create a Custom format in Excel. Contact the Computing Help Desk, at helpdesk@mit.edu, with any questions.
- Follow the menu path File > Save As.
- From the Format drop down, select Tab Delimited Text (.txt)
